Fluoride

The removal of Fluoride is one of the more difficult filtration processes. Reverse Osmosis will remove about 80%, ion exchange is very effective but exhausts very quickly and without warning which defeats the purpose of having it there unless monitored, bone char is also very effective but also has some duration issues like ion exchange which are accelerated if having to also remove chlorine. Omnipure’s Activated Alumina cartridge has proven to be the most defective and reliable. When removal of fluoride from your water supply is required this filter can be added to existing systems – the manufacturer states a minimum 90% removal. Independent tests performed at Tweed Heads, Qld, showed a 98% removal. When used in conjunction with our most popular filter the Aquaspace, where the provided test results show a 40% Fluoride reduction at the end of the medias life you could expect almost total removal.
