This cartridge is especially designed for the removal of nitrates when living in or near cropping areas.
High nitrate levels diminish the oxygen carrying capacity of the bloodstream, which is hazardous to infants under 3 months. Long term exposure in adults has been strongly connected to different forms of cancer, the most common being gastric cancer.
